Kidz ‘n Critters Summer Camp – Session 1
Every summer brings the sound of fun and laughter to our shelter as kids of all ages participate in our Kidz ‘n Critters Summer Camp program. Each one-week session is specially geared to a particular grade level so kids have a chance to not only learn about animals but make new friends as well.
Our camp program is:
Educational – with various animal experts sharing their passion and knowledge as guest speakers, complimented with videos and activity sheets/handouts
Fun – with various games, activities, and crafts.
Hands-on – time each day is spent socializing the shelter animals
Experiential – each session goes on a fieldtrip (no fieldtrips this year!)
Relevant – helps children learn about responsible pet care
Interesting – topics range from protecting wildlife, why spay/neuter, what is a community cat and more, careers working with animals, and more!
This year we are running an abbreviated camp schedule. There will be only two sessions and the camps will run Monday-Friday, 9:00am -12:00pm. Cost is $100 per child. Scholarships are available. Camps will be held outdoors in the dog field and only indoors during the animal socializing period and for restroom breaks. Masks are mandatory and we will follow social distancing as required. Each camper will have his/her temperature taken each day at drop-off.
Session 1 – June 21-25, will be for 2nd and 3rd graders
Session 2 – July 12-16, will be for 4th-6th graders
Acceptance is on a first come/first serve basis.
