Summer Camp

Every summer brings the sound of fun and laughter to our shelter as kids of all ages participate in our Kidz ‘n Critters Summer Camp program.  Each one-week session is specially geared to a particular grade level so kids have a chance to not only learn about animals but make new friends as well.

After your application is accepted you will be contacted by email for payment – space is not reserved until payment is received

Our camp program is:  

Educational – with various animal experts sharing their passion and knowledge as guest speakers, complimented with videos and activity sheets/handouts

Fun – with various games, activities, and crafts.

Hands-on – time each day is spent socializing the shelter animals

Relevant – helps children learn about responsible pet care

Interesting – topics range from protecting wildlife, why spay/neuter, what is a community cat and more, careers working with animals, and more!

Dates for Summer 2024 

Session 1:  July 8-July 12 for campers going into 2nd/3rd grades Session is full

Session 2:  July 15-19 for campers going into 4th/5th grades Session is full

Session 3:  July 22-July 26 for campers going into 6th/7th grades

Session 4: July 29-Aug 2 for campers going into 4th/5th grades

All camps run Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and are held at the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter – 301 J. Rogers Lane off Redwood Drive (just south of the Press Democrat building)

Grade level is based on the 2024-25 school year.  Each camper may only attend one session, and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Cost is $150 per camper, with a $25 sibling discount offered.  Registration includes a camp t-shirt.  Scholarships are available, call for details.
